The Video game development organization (VIDO) has launched RGDBook, Russia's first unified handbook on legal, business, and industry issues for video game developers and publishers. The legal regulation is accompanied by detailed comments from relevant experts. The idea of creating such a platform was proposed by Albert Zhiltsov, creative producer at 1C Games Studios.
The goal of the project is to collect all the important information in one place:
📌 laws and regulations affecting game Dev;
📌 current trends and market analytics;
📌 support measures and benefits;
📌 recommendations on IP, personal data, investments, advertising, etc.
Together with the Red Book, the Green Pages, a collection of practical tips on creating and integrating narrative into games, will be launched.
RGDBook is:
🔹 help for beginners and experienced studios;
🔹 save time on finding legal answers;
🔹contribution to the formation of a professional community.
The project was created on a voluntary basis with the participation of leading lawyers, tax consultants and experts from the gaming industry. The initiative has already received support from developers, publishers, and lawyers. In the future, it is planned to develop and expand the initiative, taking into account changes and feedback from developers.
